View Thread : Quality of Schmidt puzzles

Hi all,
Similar to my question about the Clementoni range, I'm wondering if you have any experience with Schmidt puzzles from Germany.
Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but this is not the same brand as FX Schmidt which from what I gather is what Ravensburger puzzles are "called" sometimes in the USA.
I've never puzzled a Schmidt puzzle myself though I did start one. It was a gift, one of the Anne Geddes pictures. But it was 1000 pieces and quite frankly a bit too difficult for me as 1/3 of the image was just one big black area.

Hi Kevin
I have bought a couple of old Schmidt puzzles in charity shops and they were superb, really thick pieces and brilliant colours. One was Brueghel's "Great Fish Market" and the other, can't remember exactly, but an Italian painting of a Biblical scene.
Sadly from what I can see the modern Schmidt puzzles are nowhere near the same quality, but do look out for the old ones.

Hello
For those who are accustomed to Educa puzzles, Schimdt offers so much more variety of type of pieces. The puzzle is that you mean "Red Rose"?

Fortunately ... before I made another little puzzle from the same trade (polar bears) and I realized that the same pattern, and that provided enough doing it...

Hehehe, that is pretty neat! Puzzle one on top of the other.
Sure one might call it cheating, but I find this pretty original! :)
