Hi Angela,
Well, I'm replying!
I only joined a couple of weeks ago and haven't contributed much so far. However, the main reason why is thanks to my lovely hubby. He trolled off to a local car-boot sale a 2 weeks ( I was at work) and rang me to say there wasn't much there but he'd managed to pick up a couple of jigsaws for me. Well, I got home around fiveish to be greeted by 18 - yes 18!!!! jigsaws. I couldn't believe it. Apparently, there was a lady there who only goes once a year to sell various goodies but mainly her hubby's completed jigsaws. My hubby chose 13 and asked her to put them in a bin-bag for him while he looked round and when he got back, she'd thrown an extra 5 in for free. How about that! He paid £13 for 18 jiggies and there's some really good ones too.
Hence the fact that I haven't been computering much lately and perhaps other members have been too involved in their hobbies to post too. It's a shame but life does take over sometimes.
At the moment, I'm trying to complete "A Rainy Day" which is a lovely picture but quite difficult due to big areas of sameness. So far I've managed the sky but I need really good light to distinguish the samey colours on the road and buildings. Unfortunately the light isn't too good by the time I get home so weekends are my main times.
I hope someone else will reply now and perhaps keep going for a while.
Cheers
Ann

Well the weather is so nice here I've been outdoors a lot. It's getting darker earlier so don't want to stay indoors too long.
Annie, sounds like you really hit the jackpot. I need to sell some of mine so I can buy more. |r

Hi Tango,
I was a little suprised when I joined this site how quiet it is. Its a great idea to have somewhere that people with the same hobby can get together and have a chat especially as it is worldwide!!!!!Thankyou to the people who have replied to me..............lets try keep it going.
Anyway I am the same as you Jigsaws everywhere!!!!!!!I am getting them sorted a bit now,I have got my sister started so she as got a few and I have sold some on Ebay( have to make room for new ones)trouble is I keep buying new ones. I have just started one I bought in a charity shop so I hope it is all complete(they usually are).It is 1000pc "romantic roses" very pink but really pretty. I have done about half and I am really enjoying it,its not too difficult and I do like a challenge but I think it is relaxing to do an easier one now and then.
Think I will do an hour before lunch,

Hi,
When I first joined this site there was a Xmas competition in the offing and to qualify you had to have a certain number of postings. Being a newcomer I had to post a lot! Fortunately the people on the board way back then (Including Graham I have to say) were very helpful and we had lots of conversations. I didn't win the comp but I made a lot of online friends.
Most of those people seem to have disappeared for one reason or another and of course new people have taken their place. I think its important to remember that this is not just about jigsaws. It's a place to make friends with the same interest of course, but it can also be a place to just make friends. Does that make sense?
I hope it does,
Lesley http://www.smileycons.com/img/dogs/23.gif

Hi Lesley,
My you have been a member a long time! I am only recent!!!! I did think when I signed up that there would be more activity cos I think it is such a good idea. Many times when I come on line I am the only one(like now).I know that because this site is worldwide there is the time difference to take into account and I have had some responses from some really nice people,I am hanging on in there and hope it picks up a bit now that the winter is fast approaching, maybepeople go on line more during the cold dark winter evenings.
I am semi retired now and perhaps I have more time on my hands than a lot of people.Jigsaws are my main hobby but tinkering on the computer is also a hobby.I read too and have two very lively grandsons.
So come on everybody get posting!!!!!!!
Pauline

Pitstop,
I have totally retired.... well, except for 1 day a week when I go back to school and do ppa time (That's planning time relief) for a colleague and also update the school website.
I am still revelling in the fact that I don't have to do anything if I don't want to.
I am doing lots of jigsaws when I really should be doing housework etc. But I don't feel a bit guilty at the moment and that's great. No doubt the guilt will come later with a vengeance!
Will try to keep posting as well!

Hi Lesley
I really like your little cartoon characters... well done!!
I am a jigsaw fanatic like most of you guys and I like to keep a look in on the chatroom too. Like everyone else I am often on line when no-one else appears to be. Anyway, who cares about housework, it will be here when we're not!! Bring on the jigsaws I say.
Take care.... Linda.

Hi Lesley,
I only work one and a half days each week now so plenty of time for housework.............who am I kidding.I would much rather be doing something else as Lindy-Lou said the housework will be there when we are not, anyway jigging is a good clean hobby so no mess to clear up!!!!
I too love your litle cartoons, where do you find them? Some of them are really great.
Pauline

Hi,
The cartoons are smileys that I get from a program called 'smileycons'.
There's a free version you can get from
http://smileycons.com
I liked it so much I subscribed to the gold membership. You get new packs every now and then.
All you have to do is open the prog, find the pic you want and drag it onto the page where you want it to go. It is a link to the pic on the web so what you see is a url. When people look at it in their browser the pic shows up. Does that make sense?
Here are a few samples...

You know? It's really difficult to find this forum. Searched on google a few hours to find a nice decent forum about puzzle.
And I am here because I insisted about 4-5 times with the registration, and after 4 emails to administrators... and so on...
I really don't know where the problem was at the time I registered, but if more people have the same problems I had, maybe they are not as insistent as I was and they give up after the first try.
Anyway I told some of my friends about it... I jus find this forum, even without so many replies, to be the best in puzzlechating... in fact it seemd to me to be the only decent one existing at the moment (not countig the ones that have like 10-50 replies/entire forum and a total of 5 users).
